Eight tips for taking care of your hands in winter
Harassed by the cold, the hands dry and spoil. To restore their softness, you must know how to take care of them during the winter. Discover the eight beauty gestures to adopt for well hydrated hands, even in the snow.
- The cold and the wind destroy the natural barrier of the skin. The hands quickly redden and dry out. To protect them, never go out without wearing gloves , even if the temperatures seem rather mild. Choose them in leather and not too tight, because poor blood circulation can lead to painful frostbite. Also choose gloves with fur for more comfort.
- In winter, swap your usual moisturizer for a richer treatment such as balm. Its dense and thick texture forms a protective film on the skin and deeply nourishes it. Creams based on glycerin, Shea butter or vegetable oil are the most recommended. And do not hesitate to apply it several times a day.
- Water is the enemy of your skin, especially hot water. Avoid washing your hands too much and replace your usual soap with a mild or oily soap. Finally, dry them thoroughly.
- Household products weaken your skin, even more in winter. It is therefore recommended to wear gloves when doing the dishes or when handling detergents.
- To treat crevices between your fingers, apply a repairing balm enriched with healing active ingredients such as chamomile or St. John's wort.
- In winter, adopt cold-cream . Its thick formula offers super fasting and very hydrating properties. It is the ideal treatment to protect your hands from external attacks.
- Do good to your hands with homemade care. Use olive oil or sweet almond oil for this. Add two drops of lavender or rosewood essential oil, apply the mixture to your hands for a few minutes and then rinse.
- Take advantage of the night to hydrate your hands. Spread them with a generous layer of cream (or oil) before going to bed, put on cotton gloves and leave to act while you sleep. Gloves have two purposes: they protect your sheets from stains and amplify the effects of the treatment, because under the effect of heat, moisturizers penetrate the skin better. When you wake up, your hands will be soft and nourished.
